Everything You Need to Know About Your Container and Delivery

What does my container look like?

New (First Trip) Containers

A "new" or "first trip" container is a shipping container that has been shipped from the factory to Europe. These containers are brand new and available in a variety of colors. During transport, about a month at sea, minor signs of use may occur. After arrival and unloading, these containers are thoroughly checked for damage before being sold.

Used Cargoworthy A

A-category used containers are carefully selected and are usually the "younger" or very nice used boxes. For a specific color or to freshen up a used container, repainting is an excellent choice. We offer a high-quality painting service, using professional paint. This restores the container's appearance, extends its life and delays corrosion.

Second-hand Cargoworthy B

A used container has usually served 10 to 15 years in international transport and shows signs of use such as rust, dents, scratches. Nevertheless, we ensure that they are wind and watertight, with functioning doors and seals. With regular maintenance, these containers will remain usable for many years and can be repainted if desired.

How do I secure my container?

Built-in Lock Box

New containers come standard with a lock box, a metal housing that shields the lock. This prevents access with concrete cutters or other burglary tools and provides an additional layer of security against theft.

Block locks

For optimal security, we recommend a block lock designed specifically to fit inside the lock box. This sturdy lock resists break-in attempts and weather conditions, keeping your container contents well protected at all times. Ask for it when ordering.

Preparation for Delivery

Prior

Proper preparation is essential to the smooth delivery of your container. Because this is a specialized service, obstacles or unforeseen problems can result in additional costs for a failed delivery.

To safely place the container at your location, the truck must have adequate access:

  • The access road must be at least 3 meters wide.

  • There should be no sharp turns or obstacles on the route.

  • No overhead cables should be present at the unloading site.

  • The truck needs space to fold out the 1.8-meter Hiab legs for stability.

Not sure if your site is suitable for delivery? Let us know during your inquiry so we can advise you on the best approach.

A Solid Surface For Your Container

A shipping container must be placed on a hard, flat surface, which is why it is important to prepare the site well in advance.

If the ground is too soft, the container may sag, causing problems when opening the doors. To avoid this, we recommend placing concrete tiles, concrete blocks or railroad sleepers at the corners of the container. This will ensure stable and level placement.

Keep in mind that many trucks cannot drive on grass because of their weight. Make sure the access road and unloading area are solid and easily accessible to ensure a successful delivery.
